Research of Personal Mobility Devices for LA Metro with a focus on first/last mile access, policy for transit and market trends.
Civic Projects is carrying out research for LA Metro on mobility devices used for first/last mile access. Our research covers policy, best practices and market trends for Electronic Personal Assistive Mobility Devices (EPAMD) and Other Power Assistive Mobility Devices (OPAMD). We’re looking at issues surrounding e-scooters commonly used by seniors, including best practices in policy and operations for accommodating them on transit. We’re also researching differences in regulations for able-bodied users and those governed by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The work will also extend to policy, technology and market trends for a variety of types of other personal mobility and wheeled devices used by adults and kids.
